WEATHER
In Iceland, as in the mountains, the weather is very changeable. If you do not want to be considered a typical tourist, do not take an umbrella and it winds up so you will be all wet. Be sure to bring waterproof clothing and accessories: waterproof boots; pants in which you can walk in the rain; good jacket and backpack cover.
PEOPLE AND SAFETY
Iceland is one of the safest countries in the world. People are confident, everyone says good morning. The locals don't even bother locking the door, they don't chase rents, and they're very helpful. Virtually all residents speak English. Apparently, during our stay in Reykjavik, someone had stolen an iPad, and the city bought it back as compensation.
PACKING
Make your trip stress-free by folding clothes in the right way. Take fewer things so hiking will be easier. Learn more about packing hacks in our article: 10 tips to pack a suitcase
HITCHHIKING
Iceland is one of the most pleasant hitchhiking places. The average waiting time for transport for one person is about 20 minutes. Residents and other tourists are happy to take them in.
ENTERTAINMENT
Expensive matter. If you plan to have a drink, take the bottle with you. You will pay around 10 EUR for a beer at the bar and around 50 EUR for a bottle of whiskey. It is worth thinking in advance what to pack to Iceland and stock up on % at the airport, because flying to Iceland we will not pay customs duties or other taxes that occur, for example, between European Union countries.
